The Annual Closing of Roads to the public through War Department Lands will
take place from
6AM on Monday the 5th to 6AM on Tuesday the 6th instant.
The Commanding Officer Royal Artillery will Furnish a Sentry for the back gate
The Royal Artillery will furnish Sentries with side arms to be posted at the
South Park Street Entrance, also on
The 1st Leicestershire Regiment will furnish Sentries around Glasi leading to
the Citadel. Also a sentry for Maitland Terrace.
The Detachment at
Theses Sentries will be posted where the road crosses the North and South
boundary of property RESPECTIVELY.
The Royal Artillery will furnish two sentries with side arms for closing the
Right of Way at York Redoubt, one near the Roman Catholic Chapel and the other
at the point where
The above posts will be Pointed out by the Military Foreman of Works doing the
duty in Division contentious.
The Closing of all other Thoroughfares unprovided for in this order will be
carried out by the Royal Engineers.
The Officer Commanding Royal Artillery and 1st Leicestershire Regiment will
make their own arrangements for the PERIODICAL RELIEF of sentries furnished by
respective Corp's, who will mount sufficient time to be on their posts by 6AM
The whole of the Sentries will be directed that during the period before named
PASSAGE ACROSS THE BOUNDARIES stated is to denied to all persons, horse a conveyances,
not legitimately EMPLOYED IN THE SERVICE of the War Department or Having
business with officers or Troops in Garrison

It is noted for General Information that under Authority of Horse Guard Letter
109/ General #1/11468 dated 06 July 1891
Men who have completed their Term of Army Service and are Entitled to be
transferred to the Reserves may be permitted on such transfers to reside and
draw their Reserve Pay in the Dominion of Canada on the following grounds.
A/ That they report themselves on transfer to the District Paymaster , from
whom they will receive the necessary instructions as to reporting themselves
from time to time and by whom the Reserve Pay will be issued.
B/ That they join on Mobilisation being ordered as may be ordered.
C/ In all Applications made by Commanding Officers for Reserve Men to reside
and draw their pay in the Dominion, they will confirm that the man concerned
has had theses conditions explained to him and has intimated that he consists
to abide them.
