The Granite Memorial situated in the Royal Tigers Wood

 

 

Bagworth Heath Woods. Bagworth is situated some 8 miles north of the City of Leicester. Bagworth Heath Woods covers some 75 hectares of land and contains woodland, heathland, grassland, lakes and pools. The Woodland Park was recently re-claimed from an original coal mine site.

The Royal Tigers Wood is situated within Bagworth Heath Woods. Former Soldiers of the Royal Leicestershire Regiment raised funds to plant the wood with some 17 trees from the various countries in which the Regiment won some of its battle honours and a granite memorial in honour of the soldiers of the Regiment.

The dedication on the wreath reads, "In proud and honoured memory of all the Officers, Non-Commissioned -Officers and Men of The Royal Leicestershire Regiment who made the Supreme Sacrifice for their Country."
