Photo CBELL 1 Please contact Al Campbell at :- campbell@mail.com This is what Al. wrote about this wonderful WW1 era photograph.

" May I submit a couple of AMERICAN EXPEDITIONARY FORCES pictures from 1917/18. The first is of a CAPTAIN BUTLER OF THE R.F.C. (note, RFC :- Royal Flying Corps. Later to be the Royal air Force), who was an Instructor to C Flight, of the 186th Aero Squadron, AEF, at Pool Meadow Aerodrome, Oxford, in 1917. I know nothing more of him, but would like to hear of anything that others may be able to contribute."

I hope that someone will be able to supply some information about Captain Butler to Al, please do help if you can.

Photo CBELL 2

Please contact Al Campbell at :- campbell@mail.com This second great photograph from Al is both very historic and obviously very personal to him, as in this picture is his Grandfather. This what Al wrote,

"The picture is of "The Four ME's" (Top Sergeants) to A, B, C, & D Flights, of the 186TH AERO SQUADRON somewhere in France in 1918. The aircraft is a French built Salmson 2A2. On the left is, my Grandfather, JOHN L KAVANAGH, from CHICAGO. U.S.A. The other three are, JOHN M . HOLDER, and MOSIE T. KILLINGSWORTH, both of TAFT, California,U.S.A. and REUEL R. REMINGTON, of STOCKTON, California, U.S.A. "

Well I doubt that we could hope for better information than that! I do hope that you will be able to help Al
