Photo DGREA 1 Please contact David Greaves at :- dave.greaves@btinternet.com This is one of the four fascinating World War One photographs that David sent to Military Images. This is what he wrote about them,

"I have been researching my family history for two years, in particular my Grandfather RALPH GREAVES who served in D company of the 1/8th Battalion The Worcestershire Regiment throughout the First World War. I have included his picture along with two others, which are actually postcards which he had in his possession during the War so as you would expect they are very battered. The one group shows three Tommies with their nicknames written on a chalkboard in front:- PUNCH, TOODLES AND NED. I assume that they were comrades of my grandfather but I have no idea of their real identities. They also appear to be Worcestershire Regiment Soldiers as two of them are wearing the badge. The second postcard shows three officers also from the Worcestershire Regiment, I know the identity of the one at the back of the group, he is CAPTAIN H.L. EVERS who was a 2/8th Battalion officer killed in action 1st November 1918. I would like to hear from anybody who may know the names of the other officers or recognise the nicknames of the three tommies. I would also appreciate a line from anybody who shares an interest in the 1/8th Worcestershire Regiment during the first World War. My grandfather had two brothers who served in the army and three more in the Navy. The family lived in Stoke Prior (Bromsgrove) and worked as Saltmakers."

Standing centre back, is CAPTAIN H. L. EVERS, an officer of the 2/8th Battalion, who was killed in action 1st November 1918 (just ten days before the end of WW1 on the Western Front). Captain Levers was in fact, " CAPTAIN HUGH LANCELOT EVERS , M.C. & Bar (Military Cross awarded twice)."

The other three officers are unknown. Can you help with identification please?

This WW1 photograph shows "floats" in a procession and were from The BIRMINGHAM METAL & MUNITIONS COMPANY. David's Great Aunt worked for this company during the Great War, and he would greatly appreciate any information about this company or the procession itself.
