Please contact LOUISA HANKS at:- hanks@senet.com.auThe owner of this photograph LOUISA , lives in Adelaide, S. Australia.
This is what Louisa wrote about this image and her Great Grandfather,
"This is a photo of my Grt.Grandfather, FREDERICK JAMES WEST (born 1877 died 1935) of the Buffs (ROYAL EAST KENT REGIMENT) The photograph was taken in PESHAWAR, INDIA . I am unsure of the date but I do have a medal of his that says "Punjab Frontier 1897-1898" so I presume it was taken during this time as I also have other medals for: "South Africa" 1901 and 1902 and "Transvaal, Driefontein, Paardeberg and Relief of Kimberley" (undated) " Can anyone help with any further information about this soldier and/or his army service ?

Please contact LOUISA HANKS at:- hanks@senet.com.au In this group photograph is Louisas's Great Uncle and this is what Louisa had to say about it , "Here is a photo taken (I presume) in WWI of my Great-Uncle, CHARLES HADDON WHITELOCK (born 1897 died1945). He lived in Furze Platt, Maidenhead, Berkshire, England. as a child, the family was there during WWI so he could have been in a Berkshire regiment but I am not sure. He is the clean-shaven, (seated left) soldier. Any information gratefully received .
Can anyone help Louisa? To what Regiment/s etc. did these soldiers belong? Do you recognise the two other soldiers in the picture? Please help if you can.

PHOTO FURL 1 Please contact ANDY FURLONG at :-andy@andyfurlong.demon.co.uk
This sketch was found in a Bible that at one time belonged to LIIZZIE FURLONG. The sketch which headed " A CITY IMPERIAL VOLUNTEER ON PARADE AT JACOBSDAL" I understand that Jacobsdal is fairly near to Kimberley South Africa, and was involved in no small way in the Boer War. If anyone can help Andy with information of any kind and especially about Furlong family connections in South Africa. Please do contact him.
