The civilians are also totally unidentified. Can you help with answers to this puzzle ?

This scan is of Malcolm's Father, GEORGE SMITH of Mill Street Loughborough. who was a Leicestershire Regiment Soldier in WW1. This what Malcolm wrote about his Father, " Enlisted 1/5 [County] Battalion, Aug/Sept 1914. His Regimental number was 1876. He was wounded 1915 . A bullet passed through his lower left arm and smashed both bones on the way, hospitalised Netly Southampton and subsequently Returned to the front. He was Awarded three Medals "Pip Squeak and Wilfred" . Demobilised 22 March 1919. According to the Battalion history, it disembarked at Le Havre on 28th Feb 1915 but on the medal rolls George is shown as entitled to the 1914 1915 Star having disembarked on the 27th ! " Can you help Malcolm with any further information about his Father and his Battalion's history?

 

 

 

Photo S SMITH 1 Contact MALCOLM COLLIER SMITH at :-Velosmith@aol.com This scan is of Malcolm's Grandfather SAMUEL SMITH. who was also a Leicestershire Regiment Soldier in WW1. This what Malcolm wrote about his Grandfather, "Samuel Smith of 17, Mill Street [now Market Street], Loughborough, Leicestershire. His date of enlistment and regimental number is not known. One of his sons now deceased thinks he served in the U K on the North East coast and was possibly in the National reserve company which was sent to guard German officer POW's at Castle Donnington." Can anyone help Malcolm with any information about Samuel ?
