Photo BCNNRS1 This photograph and the next two on this page were sent in by TREV MARSHALL of Canada. Trevs E-mail address is :-marsht@direct.ca This is what Trev wrote about the images, "This is Bernard CONNORS born 18-08-1919 in Nottingham, England Regimental number 5048989-The Leicestershire Regiment. He enlisted at Nottingham on 16-03-1937 and posted for training to North Staffordshire regiment on 19 March 1937. He was attached to South Staffordshire regiment for training on 26 June1937, discharged from training after enlisting with the regular army on 8 March 1938 . He enlisted with the regular army, 2nd Battalion, Leicestershire regiment on 9 March 1938 He was then posted to overseas duty, Palestine 15 September 1938. He died Palestine 19 May 1939. Bernard was my Fathers Step Brother, he was posted to Palestine and sailed on the H.M.S NEURALIA (see below) . Bernard died on the 19 May 1939 at approximately 16:30 hrs from a gun shot wound to the head and was subsequently buried at Ramla (formerly Ramleh) war Cemetary in Israel and is buried in Plot 0, Grave 27 on the 20 May 1939. Photo BCNNRS 3 Trev wrote, "This group photograph was taken at Palestine in 1938 and depicts Bernard, who is kneeling down, front row, far right. I would like to identify any other individuals on the photograph or make contact with anyone who had, or has knowledge of Bernard CONNORS or who may have other photographs to share, or information as to Bernard's subsequent death also if anyone has information or knowledge of the Ramleh War cemetery in Israel or anyone who may have contacts there to obtain a photograph of the Grave site. "
