Photo ATC 1 This great and unusual photograph was sent in by Suzanne Phillips at :- phillsue@inreach.com

This what Suzanne wrote about it " This is my great Grandfather ALFRED THOMAS DE CARTERET. He was married to SUSAN RICKARD. I do not know anything about where this picture was taken or his unit. Alfred was born December 04, 1845 SARK (The Channel Islands). He died October 23, 1916 on the Island of Guernsey Any information would be appreciated. "

I am also looking for information on his Grandson DESMOND DE CARTERET. Family stories say he was killed in the last days of WW2 aboard a British naval ship.
Suzanne would be grateful for any information what so ever about her Gt. Grandfather and also for his son Desmond. Can anyone help please.

Photo LEAT 2 Please contact WENDY GRANT at :- w_grant@optusnet.com.au This WW2 era photograph depicts four soldiers that appear to be of the same Regiment, they are standing in front of what appears to be a bomb damaged building that has a WW2 German sign on its wall. Perhaps this photo was taken in the closing stages of WW" or perhaps just after Germany's surrender ? The soldier standing (middle) is Wendy's Uncle ROBERT LEATHEM. Robert was born in 1912. Wendy has no idea of Roberts Regiment or the location where this photo was taken or who his comrades were. Interestingly, Robert and his brother SAMUEL LEATHEM (born 1910) were DUNKIRK veterans. Family legend has it, that one of the brothers found the other laying wounded on the Dunkirk beach and managed to see that his brothers injuries were treated

Can anyone help Wendy in her quest for information ? To view a larger version of this photograph please click here > LEAT 2

Photo EO 1 Please contact Eric Orbel at > eric@orbell.freeserve.co.uk

This what Eric wrote about this photograph :- "This is of a young man in A LIGHT INFANTRY REGIMENT as can be seen from his buttons. It was taken at SHORNCLIFFE BARRACKS and I would guess may be late 19th century. The jacket would probably be green. This photo was found in an album belonging to a great aunt in Lincoln but her
daughter had no idea who the soldier was. I have found no relatives in a
Rifle Regiment. Does anyone recognise the young man ? Or can anyone give any further clues about him , perhaps someone recognises this type of hairstyle? "
