This wonderful group scan was sent in by Peter Cole, Peter can be contacted at > pacole37@smartchat.net.au This what peter wrote about it. " This is the WILTSHIRE REGIMENT in Dublin after WW1. The photo was taken by H W Harrington, of Dublin. I do not know the exact year but it must be about 1919. My father BERTRAM COLE is a second lieutenant, he is seated third from the left on the front row. He is wearing a medal ribbon but I do not know what it is, he had two medals after the war, and I have these medals but neither matches the colour layout of the ribbon he is wearing. I have another photo of him as a corporal in 1915/16 wearing a similar ribbon. He was near Amiens on the Somme at the time but may have been back in England to have had the photo taken. He was then at the battles around Arras and wounded on 18 October 1916 at the battle of Trones Wood with the Wiltshire Regiment. He was hospitalised at 12 General Hospital at Rouen until 8th November 1916 when he was returned to duty and promoted to lance sergeant backdated to the day he was wounded. On 21st December 1916 he was sent back to England to King's College at Cambridge to study to become an officer. He was commissioned on 30th May 1917 and then attached to the 1ST BATTALION YORK AND LANCASTER REGIMENT in Salonika." Can you help Peter with any further information ? Do you recognise any of the other soldiers seen here ?As this is a large group image that requires clarity I have split it into two sections (left & right). Please note: both of these image files are fairly large (60 kb each).

This is another wonderful group image sent in by Peter Cole > pacole37@smartchat.net.au This is again the WILTSHIRE REGIMENT after WW1. There are approximately 130 soldiers to be seen on this photo. I have again split the image up into three pieces Right, Centre and Left. The individual sections are still fairly large files of about 65 k.b. each, so may be slow to down load. But they are well worth the wait ! Peters Father BERTRAM COLE is seated on the front row, and seventh from the left.
