Please contact Doreen Travis at sivartd@hotmail.com Seen in this WW1 era group photograph (taken in August 1915) is, (front row left) Doreen's Grandfather ERNEST FENTON (1890 -1953. Ernest was born in Margate, England. He Joined the Territorial Army in 1908. None of the soldiers Regiments are Identified. Can you identify Ernest's Regiment ? or perhaps help Doreen with any other information regarding Ernest? Do you perhaps recognize the other soldiers seen here or their Regiments ? (Doreen believes it possible that Ernest may have been in a Manchester Reg.) The soldier sitting to the right of Ernest appears to be of the same Regiment but he is wearing the 5 pouch leather bandoleer that (I believe) was typically issued to the artillery and mounted units. To view a larger version of this image please click here >
