This is a group of WW1 4 th. BATTALION THE LEICESTERSHIRE REGIMENT soldiers. The location is unknown, but painted on the door behind the men is "A.S.C. 26" . The sergeant (front row seated) is my Great Uncle, Sergeant FREDERICK CHARLES CAPEWELL. But who were his comrades? Can you help please ?

This photo is of a group of WW1 soldiers, this was possibly within the grounds of a hospital and during their recovery period after treatment for injuries received in France or Belgium. This is likely to have been in late 1917. I have been told that the "casual dress" of some of the soldiers in this photo was usually overlooked whilst the patient was recovering.

The "disreputable looking" soldier (left of the picture laying down) with the cigarette and a flat cap, is My Grandfather WILLIAM THOMAS CAPEWELL of the LEICESTERSHIRE REGIMENT (No. 7421).

His comrade to the right (lying down) is also a Leicestershire Regiment soldier (as can be seen from his cap badge.) Who the other soldiers are, and to what Regiment they belonged, I have no idea. Can any one help?
