Please contact Alan Tracey at > atracey@telus.net Alan sent in this formal photograph of a group of WW1 era Naval Officers. Alan wrote "I really know virtually nothing about the photograph except that my Grandmother's brother is in the photo. I have tentatively identified him but may be wrong. I would appreciate anything you can tell me about the photograph, itself. The photo was sent from Liverpool to my Grandmother but I do not know where it was taken, what group the men belong to or anything else. Can you help Alan with any information please ? Do you recognize any of these sailors? NOTE: I have divided this group photograph into two sections to save "down load" time.To view the LEFT section of the image please click here >

Please contact Mike Vince at mike.vince@btinternet.com This is what Mike wrote about this wonderful photograph " This is SERGEANT CHARLES EDWIN VINCE born 1881, died 1950. This photograph is from his wedding day 3 April 1907 at St Clements Parish Church, City of York." Sergeant Vince was Michael's Grandfather. So far, Michael does not know which Regiment Sgt. Vince was a member of. The sergeant is wearing what may well be a South African War (Boer) medal with four bars. Can anyone help with the identification of this soldiers magnificent uniform ? Or perhaps you have some information about Sergeant Vince ?(Could his uniform perhaps be of the 6th. Dragoon Guards ?)

Please contact Carol at catsco@supanet.com This is what Carol wrote about this portrait " This is FREDERICK J. GODDARD B.1884 London (probably LEWISHAM area) U.K. From his photograph I cannot distinguish to which regiment he belonged. He had a brother William E. Goddard b.1888 who was killed in WW1 after losing a leg. He was a gunner in 5th "C" Reserve, Royal Field Artillery and died on 29 Aug 1917 and buried in Lewisham. I cannot find any info re Frederick and non of his relations can remember what happened to him. Any info greatly received as he is the last missing name in recent family tree.Note: I have suggested to Carol that Frederick may have been a Artillery "Driver" ? Can you help her with other suggestions or information please ? Do you perhaps recognise Frederick ?
