Please contact Richard Stanley at :- rstanley@tonk.net This is what Richard wrote about this portrait, "This picture is of HENRY JOHN STANLEY (my Great-Grandfather), aged 54, he is in the uniform of the ROYAL REGIMENT OF ARTILLERY. On the back of the picture it is dated July 18, 1915 Henry John Stanley, SIDCUP, KENT, England. The sleeve patch is believed to show him to be a farrier. What unit could he have been in ? Please contact Richard Stanley at :- rstanley@tonk.net This is what Richard wrote about this second photograph from his collection, " this is of a group of Canadians. My Grandfather, CHARLES EDWIN STANLEY is the third man standing from the right, with his hand on his hip. On the back of the card is PETEWAWA CAMP JUNE 1914. What unit where these men in and where did they serve? It has been suggested that the uniforms are of the pre-war Canadian Militia and the soldiers are most likely at training camp.To view a larger version of this image please click here>
