Photo PJO 1 Please contact Paul Oates at :- pjoates@clara.net This portrait is of ROBERT OATES, born 1869 at Ryhope County Durham, England. Paul has very little information for this young soldier. This is what he wrote about it "Roberts family moved to Gateshead., and the photo taken Dublin. It is said that he died in Boer War but I have found no trace of death. Any information would be very welcome."

Photo EOV 1 Please contact Eilleen Ovenden at :-scorpio@aceconnect.com.au This is the most amazing and "classic" photograph of the British troops within the Western Front in WW1 that I have ever seen. I have looked at it many times, yet it still amazes me. This is what Eilleen wrote about it, " Attached is a photograph taken from the Volumes of The History of The
Kings Liverpool Regiment in WW1. It was taken in France but I don't know when or where. I think my grandfather is pictured but I don't know the identity of any of the people in the photograph for certain." Please do try to help Eilleen with any information.
For the first time I have saved the image in three different ways and all are large files! (So please be warned).
