This what Chris wrote about this portrait, "This is an early picture of my Grandfather. LANCE CORPORAL W. F. BARTLETT, of the1st Battalion THE BEDFORDSHIRE REGIMENT. It was taken in India circa 1890s. He was killed on the Somme 1916 and was by then a Regimental Sergeant Major.

This is another portrait from Chris's great collection. This what he wrote about it, "This is my Gt. Uncle in his early days in the RFC 654 THOMAS ARTHUR HANSON. He enlisted 17 October 1910. Formerly 20650 SAPPER, AIR BATTALION, ROYAL ENGINEERS. Transferred to ROYAL FLYING CORPS 17 March 1913. As Air Mechanic 1st Class, with 5 SQUADRON, earned 1914 Star and bar, serving in France from 14 August 1914. Promoted Temp SM (D) [presumably Sergeant Major (Discipline)] on 1 January 1918. Was Sergeant Major 1st Class (Discipline) in 1918 Muster Roll. Awarded RAF Long Service and Good Conduct Medal with effect from 17 October 1928, as Sergeant Major First Class. Still serving in 1931.

This what Ron wrote about this portrait, "This is a photo of my Great Uncle CHIEF PETTY OFFICER FREDERICK WILLIAM WALTER WRENCH, D.S.M. OF THE ROYAL NAVY. He served in the Royal Navy from 1 Jan 1891 to the 5th. Feb 1919 and his service number was 158630. He was awarded the DSM for services in HELIGOLAND BIGHT as published in the London Gazette 20 Oct 1914. Also mentioned in despatches per the London Gazette 23 Oct 1914. C.P.O. Wrench was born in ST LUKES, MIDDLESEX 18 NOV 1874. I am seeking descendants in the UK and hope someone will recognise the name and contact me. "
