Photo WBB 1 Please contact William Braden - Brown at > bbbpbb@clear.net.nz

William believes that this portrait was taken around the WW1 era and possibly in India. Can you help with identifying the Regiment of this soldier? Or perhaps you recognise the soldier himself?

Help of any kind would be greatly appreciated.

Photo ROBW 1 Please contact Bob Wilkinson at > bobbywil@froggy.com.au Bob wrote " This a photo of my Grandfather, He is in the centre in the Sergeants ? uniform to the left of the cup. His name is Richard Wilkinson Reg no. 443324 and he was in the 133 battery of the Royal Field Artillery and recalled in 27/8/09 as a reserve, no. 14765 and later on transferred to the Chinese Labour Corp. We know that he served in India and Ireland but no other record . Can you identify his uniform? Perhaps the place and any info on the time and regiments movements etc. TIA Bob Wilkinson "

Bobs Grandfather was a 'Bombadier', the Chinese Labour Corps is also a very interesting subject , so any information would be welcomed on any of Bob's questions. Also, do you recognise any of the other soldiers seen here? Please help if you can.

Photo KSP 1 Please contact Keith Sperry at > boilerman@lineone.net Keith wrote "Here is an image I have, that has been in my family for as long as I can remember. It is of (what I believe): 14TH PLATOON, D COMPANY, THE LEICESTERSHIRE REGIMENT on Victoria park, Leicester. I am not too sure that this is correct though. (I do not know what year) The photo could include my grand father who served in the Boer War, his name was GEORGE HARRY SPERRY, if anyone could help with information about this photo or has any details what so ever about it or the soldiers seen in the image, it would be greatly appreciated." Keith's Grandfather GEORGE HARRY SPERRY lived at Colliery Row, Thornton, Leicestershire and he was a miner.

Any information or clues regarding this photograph would be very helpful. To view a larger version of the image please click here > KSP 1 Please note! This is a large file (95 K.B.) but is a "Gem".
