Photo IANJ 1 please contact Ian Jones at :- okernel@bigpond.net.au This group photograph of mainly Royal Artillery (Possibly Royal Field Artillery) soldiers was almost certainly taken in 1919 at Kildare in Ireland. This what Ian wrote about it ,

" I am trying to track my grandfather's UK military service which seems to have occurred immediately after WWI. His name is ALBERT WILLIAM JONES, born London 1901. The attached group photo has written on the back "Kildare 1919". Albert is seated in front, second from the left (with bandolier). A high resolution scan of the badge shows that it is probably Artillery. The shoulder flashes seem to be "RFA" (Royal Field Artillery?). I have another smaller group (11) photo taken at about the same time, with the same badge, in front of a door on which is marked with chalk, "14th Bty" (perhaps 19th). "

There is no doubt that the majority of the soldiers seen in the photograph are of the Royal Artillery, but can you supply Ian with any other information? or perhaps you recognise one or more of Albert Jones's comrades seen here?

This portrait is again of Ian's Grandfather ALBERT WILLIAM JONES but this was taken later in his army career. This is a puzzle as Albert appears to be wearing the collar dogs of the ROYAL PAY CORPS? and yet he is wearing jodhpurs. Can you help with any information or advice on this photograph please?

Photo THLND 1 Please contact Tony Hyland at :-tony@hyland35.freeserve.co.uk This what Tony wrote about this group photograph, " I have no idea what Regiment the men are from and would dearly like to establish that. One of these men is a relative from my COSHAM family, mainly from the Kent/Sussex border region. Sadly, the identity as to which one has been lost in time. The photo is on a hard post card with the following details of the photographer on the reverse: Thomas W. Mitchell - under Royal Patronage - 5 St Judes Terrace, Inchicore Road, Dublin. " Can you help Tony please?
