Photo WATKI 1 Please contact Tony Watkinson at :- a.a.watkinson@tesco.net This great group photograph of 37 soldiers was taken in circa 1917 and is something of a puzzle. This what Tony wrote about it " The photo was taken at Keighley Recruitment office about 1916-17 (before May 1917). My uncle, PTE. WILLIAM BEWICK of THE DUKE OF WELLINGTONS (West Riding) REGIMENT No. 3822968 is on the back row 5th from the right." At some date William Bewick was with the Royal Fusiliers Regiment and was transferred to the reserve in 1919.

Photo WATKI 2 Please contact Tony Watkinson at :- a.a.watkinson@tesco.net This is another great group photograph from Tony. This what he wrote about it, " This photo is dated 13.10.1919 and is taken in HEADIGNEUL FRANCE and my uncle (WILLIAM BEWICK NO. 3822968) is in the middle row, 3rd from the right. Other names likely to be on are SGT NICHOLS, CPLS PARKER, PAYNE AND PHILLIPS AND GEORGE FREEMAN. These are mentioned in my uncle's diary of 17th October. At this time, the station was a demob centre, and I guess these soldiers were stationed there, either waiting to be demobbed, or (as my Uncle was) were on the staff organising the demobs." Can you help Tony with any further information or perhaps you can identify one or more of these soldiers?
