PHOTO IANP 1 Please contact Ian Paterson at :- ian.paterson@bigfoot.com This what Ian wrote about this portrait, "I have a photo taken by a C. SORABJI, BRUCE ROAD, QUETTA, INDIA . I am trying to find a possible likely candidate for the regiment. I believe that the person in the photo is my Great Uncle ANDREW LITTLE. He looks to be in his mid to late twenties which would make the photo about 1905 - 1910 ( bit of a guess that!)."

Note: please see a "close up" of the soldiers collar dogs below.

Ian would be grateful for any identification of the soldier and/or his Regiment, or any clues or guidelines.

Photo PUGH 1 Please contact Eric & June Pugh at :-eric@pughsofhay.co.uk This is what Eric wrote about this photograph," We are completely stuck on one, we are not even sure it is "army". It appeared from my wife's late mother's collection so probably has some family connection. It shows a family group, dated possibly before 1st World War. The husband is in uniform but the only badges are four reversed chevrons with an indistinguishable badge above them at the bottom end of the sleeve. Although we would obviously like to name the family, perhaps someone can at least identify the uniform or regiment."

Photo PUGH 2 Please contact Eric & June Pugh at :-eric@pughsofhay.co.uk This is what Eric wrote about this group photograph, "This photograph was taken somewhere in France on 29th September 1917. My wife's Uncle, C.Q.M.S. JACK POWELL (service no T212960) was in the ARMY SERVICE CORPS, 18th Division, and served throughout the Western Front from 1915 to 1919. He was injured and gassed and died a young man in 1941 (born 1894). We would love to find out any of the other soldiers in the group which contains one officer and 12 NCO's. Jack Powell is fourth from the left (seated)." Jack Powell was awarded the M.S.M.

Photo PUGH 3 Please contact Eric & June Pugh at :-eric@pughsofhay.co.uk This what Eric wrote about this photograph, "The Australian wounded photograph was taken in Malta in May 1915 and my wife's Great Aunt DR. MARY EPPYNT PHILLIPS, who was in charge of a medical group is seated fourth from left. From her records, of which we have a whole CD full, it seems this Medical company was on its way from England to Serbia when the ship docked at Valetta for refuelling and they found thousands of wounded Australians just being disembarked from Gallipoli. Dr. Phillips immediately ordered her staff to disembark and they then stayed in Malta for some considerable time. They did eventually get to Serbia, were captured by the enemy and endured considerable hardships. Dr. Phillips was awarded several medals including some very unusual Serbian ones. I'm sorry that the signatures under the photo are not very clear, but if anyone is interested we will try to decipher any particular one."
